Wedding Flowers: Baby’s Breath is Back!

Not too long ago baby’s breath was rarely used at weddings!  It had become such an overly used wedding flower that for many years brides wanted nothing to do with it.  Now with the explosion of vintage inspired weddings, baby’s breath has become the new chic wedding flower.  With it’s fluffy consistency and small white dainty flowers it screams vintage!

However the style and way in which baby’s breath is being used has evolved over the years.  Brides are opting to use only baby’s breath to give a more monochromatic look.   In the past it was used to “fill in the gaps” in large arrangements or bouquets to make them appear fuller.  Now baby’s breath is center stage and shown off for it’s romantic and soft look.

Brides and bridesmaids are carrying bouquets of all baby’s breath.  Look how vintage and stunning this one flower can look?

Using baby’s breath for your ceremony and reception arrangements makes a dramatic look.  Since baby’s breath is a fairly inexpensive flower you can usually make very large table arrangements that cost less than half the price if you were using other more expensive flowers.

Take a look at this easy DIY pew ends for your ceremony using baby’s breath.  Anyone can make this stunning pew end, even the non-crafty brides!

I love the idea of wearing baby’s breath in your hair!  It looks beautiful as a halo for the flowergirl but also looks so romantic as a halo made for the bride!

What do you think of baby’s breath comeback to weddings?
