Vintage/Antique Cakes

Vintage and antique cakes will be very popular for 2013.   One of the most popular designs will be cakes with lace details.  The lace on the cake can be made to perfectly match the lace on the brides dress.   Other vintage details from the brides wedding gown, like ruffles and bows, can also be added to the cake to give an antique or vintage look.

Hand painted

These cakes resemble mini works of art!  Any design or pattern such as flowers or words can be painted on the cake.  It can even be made to look like stained glass windows!

Color

As much as I love white wedding cakes, color will be on display this year.  Black and white cakes will remain a trend in 2013!  Plus, pale hues of all colors will be the top choices for brides this year with Mint being the most popular color and flavor.

Taller Tiers

Each wedding cake tier will be taller and so will the number of tiers!  Taller tiers are a great way to make your wedding cake seem larger and more grand.

Handmade Sugar Flowers

Fresh flowers on wedding cakes are slowly giving way to handmade sugar flowers. These gum paste wedding flowers are a perfect alternative to fresh flowers especially for all my green brides!
