Are you looking for a way to set your wedding apart from all of the other weddings? Well, if you have decided to have an open bar and you love beer, then you have stopped on the right blog! You see, anyone can have an open bar offering your mundane selection of name brand beers but for a little effort, you can have a custom selection of craft beer served on your big day. Weather you choose to brew your own beer at home, select a variety from your local brewery or pay extra for your venue to order your custom selection through their distributor, this choice is a sure way to set your wedding apart. Just use these simple tips to help you get started.
Visit a local brewery and hand select a variety of flavors. Then, create a custom label to go on the bottle!
Contact your local brewery or growler store to order your favorite selections! If you are getting married at a venue that does not allow you to bring in your own alcohol, ask the catering manager if they have access to local craft beers in your area. Display them in their usually fun and crafty original labels!
Brew your own beer at home. If you are up for a challenge and a major way to save money, this is a wonderful option!
You have imagined it; what you will look like, how you will feel in that very moment, hoping you don’t step on one another in front of all of your guests! I am not talking about walking down the aisle or the moment you put your veil on with your mom and bridesmaids adoring you. I am referring to your first dance as husband and wife! This is one of my favorite traditions because after all the rushing around to get ready, taking pictures, remembering your vows and getting the entire family together for that perfect photo, it is the time that the two of you can look into each other’s eyes for your first personal moment of the day. It is also where you start to see the couple’s personalities come through. From the traditional slow dance, serenade by a friend or band mate or breaking out in a choreographed dance.
Here are my suggestions straight from my Itunes playlist for the best first dance songs!
1. “Shelter” – Ray Lamontagne (my husband and I’s first dance:)
2. “All of Me” – John Legend
3. “I’m Yours” – Jason Mraz
4. “A Thousand Years” – Christina Perri
5. “Til Kingdom Come” – Coldplay (one of my favorite songs)
6. “Crazy For You” – Adele
7. “Wait Til You See My Smile” – Alicia Keys (an unexpected upbeat song for the couple that has had the odds against them and have been through a lot together)
8. “Living of Love” – The Avett Brothers
9. “You Picked Me” – A Fine Frenzy
10. “I Won’t Give Up” – Jason Mraz
11. “Ready To Lose” – Ingrid Michaelson feat. Trent Dabbs
12. “Corner of Your Heart” – Ingrid Michaelson
Ok, so I admit I am a little bit of a folk/indie nut but there are a lot of love songs in this genre that most people overlook. I hope you enjoy my secret gems:)
I absolutely love seeing our brides every weekend come downstairs for their pictures and seeing them for the first time in their wedding gowns! You can always imagine what that bride will look like on wedding day but we are often wrong in our guess and in a good way. Your wedding dress says so much about who you are; weather you are shy, outgoing, eclectic, sexy or traditional! I have searched the wedding world for what I think are some of the most gorgeous wedding dresses out there this season!
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do and feel free to share any that you have found:)
