Stop Motion Wedding Videos

Are you looking for something different to capture your wedding day? It’s not video and its not photography, it’s stop motion!  If you haven’t heard of this type of video, you are probably not alone.  Stop motion is an animation technique where you take a series of pictures and put them together to show movement (think claymation but with pictures).  This type of video is growing extremely popular for weddings and there are many ways to use stop motion video to remember your wedding day!

Consider creating a stop motion video to send as a save the date.

What about a wedding invitation in stop motion?  This can be such a creative way to inform guests about all the details of the wedding.

One of the most popular ways to use stop motion lately is taking wedding photography and creating a stop motion short film. These short films are a creative and fun way to capture the wedding day and are super enjoyable to watch.

What do you think of stop motion videos?  Love or hate?

Creative Save the Dates!

Save the Dates are a great way to let friends and family know to save your wedding date!  Some out of town guests need advance notice for travel plans and expenses.  Plus, you don’t want close friends and family planning anything else on your wedding day.

One thing I love about save the dates is that you can be as creative as you want.  They don’t have to be formal like the wedding invitation and I love any save the date that shows a small part of your relationship and/or personalities.  There are so many unique and creative ideas out there that you really can’t go wrong!  I have listed below a few of my favorite ideas I ran across recently.

For a simple save the date as well as a great DIY save the date, try tying a piece of string or rope through the card to form a “knot”.  When they open the card it will ask guests to come see you “tie the knot”…cute right?

Another great idea I love is to get a few pencils and tie them together.  You can order pencils that say, “Pencil it in” with the wedding date.  Adorable!

A great time to get pictures for your save the dates is during your engagement session.  Have the photographer snap a few pictures with the wedding date written on the bottom of your shoes.

I love the idea of drawing pictures with chalk on concrete and using that as a backdrop for the engagement pictures.  You can be as creative as you want with this idea!

For a new twist on the traditional save the date card, you can order a pop up card with your own images.

Games are also a fun way to get your guests involved in the wedding date. You can use origami, crossword puzzles or even these decoder save the dates for the comic book and superhero fans!

Unique Save the Dates!

Saves the Dates are my favorite piece of wedding stationary!  You can be super creative with your save the dates and the best part is that you don’t have to be as formal (like your wedding invitations).  You can give your guests a sneak peak at the date and time but also give them a clue in to your wedding and/or personalities!

I love handmade save the dates!  You can take your own pictures or make your own cards to send and I promise your guests will love them and appreciate the time you put in to make them.  Make sure to put that the invitation will follow and if you have a wedding website I would list that along with the date.  All of the details can be listed on your website(where guests can stay, location of ceremony and reception, where you are registered, etc) without having to include this information on the card.

For my wedding, I did Valentines themed Save the Dates…my wedding was in August so February was a perfect time to send them out.  I made handmade Valentines’ day cards and got calls from almost everyone I sent one to telling me how cute they were.

If you and your fiance love music then this music inspired save the date would fit your personalities perfectly,

Creating your own banner or sign and taking a picture of you and your fiance is a great save the date.  Be creative with it!  My favorite is the photobooth strip!

Or make a miniature banner to include in your save the date cards…how adorable is that?

My new obsession with wedding is balloons…yes balloons..but not used the way they used to be!! They are great for save the date pictures and look at this great save the date idea!

I hope these ideas spark your creativity to come up with your own personal and unique save the dates!
