Newest 2013 Wedding Trend: Leather!

Leather?  For weddings?  That’s exactly what I thought when I heard that leather would be the hottest trend for weddings in 2013!   On a recent  “business trip” in Vegas we attended a bridal conference where The Wedding Guys informed us to get ready for wedding leather!   After much hesitation I started to think of all the ways leather could be incorporated in to a wedding.  It didn’t take long to think of a few great ways to use leather in a chic and fabulous way like these beautiful invitations.

I wanted to share with you some of the ways that even the most conservative of brides can incorporate the leather wedding trend!

One of my favorite ways to use leather in 2013 is with a belt!  Try a brown leather belt around your wedding dress to totally change your look.  If you are a more traditional bride, you can use a belt after the ceremony to change from a more formal look to a relaxed look.

A leather belt is also a great accesory for your bridesmaid dresses! Look how cute these skinny leather belts are!

Another great way to use leather is to wear leather shoes!  The bride and groom are not the only ones that can wear leather shoes. For a casual, southern wedding cowboy boots are always a cute idea for anyone in the bridal party!

Or for a more subtle leather look, try wearing using leather hair accessories!  Such a new, unique way to incorporate leather!

Vintage gloves are another classy and beautiful way to use leather!

If you decide you aren’t a bride that wears leather, look at a leather favor! Leather luggage tags are perfect for a vintage wedding.

Must See…Easy and Affordable Wedding Videos!

Have you ever seen an idea and wished you thought of it?  Well this idea is that for me!!

As a wedding planner, I hear brides all the time say they wish they had money in their budget for a videographer.  I usually encourage them to find someone with a video camera to record the ceremony (if nothing else).  I truly believe that video is such an awesome way to relive your wedding day.  Pictures tell a beautiful story but listening and watching a video of the two of you saying your vows is priceless.

Well, the innovative company WedIt has made it easy and affordable to not only get video at your wedding but have it edited!

For $499 WedIt will send you 5 handheld HD cameras three days before your wedding weekend.  Give them to trusted guests at your wedding to take video throughout the ceremony and reception.  After the wedding you just send the cameras back and WedIt edits the footage in to an awesome video!!! How cool is that?  You also get one year of hosting and a digital download of all of the raw and finished videos!  So worth it!!

I think it would be a great idea to save two for your Maid of Honor and Best Man to capture moments of both you and your fiance throughout the day.  You will probably get more candid and real moments than a videographer can get!

I am in love with this concept.  Obviously, if you have the budget you will get a more finished and clean video with a professional but it is a great alternative to many brides that don’t have $2000 to spend on a videographer.

Check out some of their sample videos at  http://vimeo.com/channels/wedit and let us know what you think! If you would like to learn more about WedIt or order your cameras go to WedIt.com

New Trend:Polka Dots

Polka dots are not usually associated with weddings, but they are an emerging trend gaining popularity. If you love polka dots but unsure how they would look at a wedding you will have to check out some of these great ways to incorporate them.

One way you may see polka dots at a wedding are actually in the bridal gowns!  These romantic gowns are an elegant way to show off your love for polka dots!

Polka dots are showing up in all different wedding attire like the beautiful veils and gloves below.  Some guys are even carrying this theme in to their wardrobe and wearing a polka dot bow tie!

Take a look at some of these adorable options for polka dotted bridesmaid dresses!

Or you can decide to go with a more 50’s throwback polka dot which would give the wedding a totally different feel!

If wearing polka dots isn’t your thing you can always incorporate them in to the details of the wedding.  This would include things like favors and invitations.

Many girls are going ga-ga over polka dot cakes!  Depending on your color scheme polka dots can be elegant in all ivory or ivory/black or more fun in bright colors.

For any polka dot wedding it is the little things that can pull everything together.  For example, use polka dotted napkins, runners or place mats on the reception tables.  You can even use them as an accent behind table numbers or used in the ribbon around centerpieces.
