Rehearsal Dinner Ideas: FIESTA!

Let’s talk about themes!

This one is for my MOG’s (Mother of the Groom). We have quite a few rehearsal dinners here at Glendalough Manor. If a bride is having her wedding here, we waive the room rental for the rehearsal dinner! The only cost is food and beverages! So what can you do with that extra cash you saved?? I’m happy to share some super cute ideas!

Say it with me…FIESTA

Go on! Have a fiesta!! I love these paper flower balls in those beautiful bold colors. If you can’t find some great neon centerpieces, just use spray paint! It’s pretty inexpensive to get those small white or silver pales at your local craft store. Just add hot pink, lime green, and sunset orange and BAM…you’ve got a fiesta!

This theme is perfect for Glendalough Manor’s Mexican Fiesta Rehearsal Dinner Menu! Here is a little taste of this delicious and festive menu:

  • Mexican Tossed Salad
  • Steak and Chicken Fajitas
  • Cheese Enchiladas
  • Mexican Rice
  • Ranchero Beans
  • Chips and Salsa (Salsa-Mango, Chipolte, and Pico de Gallo)
  • Cinnamon Crisps and Vanilla Ice Cream

ENJOY!

Cake :-P

The traditional wedding cake has seemed to have taken a modern spin….. Modern looks, art themes, and bride personilization has become ever- present,

and we at Glendalough,

LOVE it.

With these awesome new “Cake-offs” on the Food Network and such, brides are thinking of crazier ideas for their wedding cake.

>>Actually one of our Preferred Vendors here,

Cakes by Debbie, has been on one of these amazzinng Cake-off’s and WON! Snap!

—> Also, the emergence of our “wild-side-brides” look to having  cakes like these. (Not for the uber-traditional brides, obviously! haha)

For the more classic, traditional brides, there are still ways to let your inner self shine… Are you into the frills, pearls, and sweet flowers? Show off your inner-girl and keep your focus on the flowers.

Then, there are always the  brides that like the ever- lovable individual cakes.

Your groom likes Coconut and Chocolate with Ganache, you like Vanilla with Strawberry filling with Buttercream icing… what to do, what to do??

 Easy fix…. CUPCAKES!

And then my personal fave, is the art themed or even crazy movie themes….. Likkkkeeeee, this Jackson Pollack themed cake! So awesome looking and with all that chocolate?

You know that will be delicious! LOVE<3

Granted, I did a more Tim-Burton-eque type wedding cake (I have a secret, dark side…haha), which I KNOW is going to be incredible! 🙂

Funky shaped layers with rounded edges and inward inverted sides, and chocolate creepy twig looking things… Don’t make fun, I love it! Can’t wait till the big day to see it all in person!!

Candy Cocktails? Omg yumm..

For my summer brides…….

Signature drinks are great. Give your guests a couple options at the bar (a dark liquor and a clear liquor cocktail) and bam~nobody has to make any decisions for themselves, haha!

Think about it.. how many times have you and your girlfriends been to a bar or club and the bartender asks you what you would like and your like, “uhhhhhhh..uumm..“.

Okay, maybe its just me:/ haha Sometimes, a couple choices just makes things easy, ya know? Anyways, I was looking for some yummy drinks and cute ways to present them and saw these adorable candy, gummy thingees to use as your garnish.**
