Wedding Flowers: Creative Bouquet Idea

A huge trend in weddings this year are DIY projects!  Some projects are to add a little personality to your wedding while other DIY projects are done to save money.  Many brides want to tackle making the personal flowers including the bridal bouquets to save money.  If you aren’t a florist this project can seem easy but can actually be difficult to achieve the look you want, especially if you want an assortment of flowers.  A new creative trend in making your own bouquet is to “bunch”  flowers together.  This not only makes a bold and creative statement but makes it much easier to assemble your own bouquet.

To achieve this look you can use the same flowers in different shades or different flowers in either the same or different colors.

2013 Wedding Trend: 1920’s Glamour

Twenties fashion is back and I couldn’t be happier! Vintage weddings are staying on trend for 2013 with a special interest in the 1920’s.  This glamourous time period is having a huge influence on weddings and some brides are carrying this theme throughout their entire event.  If you love the look, feel, and style of the 1920’s think about adding some of these elements in to your wedding!

Wedding designers are creating chic wedding dresses inspired by the 1920’s.  These dresses are the perfect balance of vintage with a modern look and feel.  My favorite wedding dress looks have a touch of bling with a plunging back.

Don’t forget the amazing 1920’s inspired headpieces!  These headpieces add tons of glamour.  They are adorned with crystals, feathers, pearls or lace and make the perfect accessory to a 1920’s look.

You can even try designing your cake to match the 1920’s theme.  How amazing is this cake that looks like a flapper dress? Or how beautiful is the cake with the crystal embellishments and silver bottom tier?  Gorgeous!

2012 Wedding Trend: Ruffles, Ruffles Everywhere

Ruffles are a huge wedding trend for 2012 and are showing up everywhere!  Invitations, bridal gowns, fashion accessories and wedding cakes are just a few of the ways ruffles are being used as one of the most popular embellishments! What isn’t more girly and fun than ruffles?  I have picked out some inspiration photos to show you ways that you can add ruffles in to your wedding.

Wedding gowns are one of the most popular ways ruffles are showing up in weddings in 2012!  Many designers are using ruffles to give off a soft, romantic feeling to their weddings gowns and girly girl’s like me are loving it!

My favorite is this ruffled party dress…how cute and fun!?

And don’t forget about adding ruffles to your shoes and accessories!

These shoes are the perfect match for a ruffled wedding gown.

With a ruffled dress, I think the perfect bouquet to carry would match your dress by using “soft” flowers with lots of petals to mimic the ruffled look on your dress like peonies, roses or lisianthus.

If you choose a ruffled wedding gown, why not use ruffles as the theme of the wedding?  Check out the DIY “ruffled” gold invitations?

Look at these beautiful ruffled linens and chair ties for your reception tables!

These ruffled wedding cakes are a perfect way to add to the theme!
