Crystal and her bridesmaids arrived to get ready in the spacious bridal suite that is provided for all brides at Glendalough Manor.

The bride chose a gorgeous strapless beaded ball gown with side ruching at the waistline. She accented her wedding gown with a crystal tiara and veil.  For her bridesmaids Crystal chose floor length, pool blue dresses and all of her girls wore crystal necklaces to match the brides tiara. The bridesmaids carried bouquets in coral and ivory flowers to match the wedding colors.

The groom and his groomsmen chose champagne colored tuxedos worn with a tie and pocket square.

Ciao Bella Weddings did an incredible job on the flowers and design of the ceremony and reception spaces.  A white aisle runner was laid down at the ceremony site and coral lanterns with pool blue ribbon were hung under the arbor where the guests are seated.  Crystal decorated the pergola with white draping and a centerpiece in the center with gorgeous coral flowers.

After the ceremony the guests were invited to the cocktail hour and reception in the Avondale Ballroom. Crystal choose pool blue sashes on the chairs with coral charger plates and ivory napkins for the guest tables. Crystal and Aston chose to sit at a romantic sweetheart table during the reception. The cake was ivory with a bow and crystal accent.

Crystal changed in to another beautiful gown during the reception to wow her guests one more time.  The new husband and wife left to guests holding sparklers.

Glendalough Manor Real Wedding: Ross and Whitney

On October 20, 2012 Ross and Whitney were married in the beautiful gardens of Glendalough Manor surrounded by one hundred and eighty of their closest friends and family.

The bride and her bridesmaids arrived to get ready in the bridal suite at Glendalough Manor and finish getting ready before pictures.  The bridesmaids toasted to the day with champagne and mimosas.  All of the bridesmaids signed the bottom of the brides beautiful Badgley Mishka shoes for her “something blue”.

Her bridesmaids helped Whitney get in to her wedding gown.  She  chose an all lace gown with a sweetheart neckline and wore a fingertip length veil with lace around the edges.

The bride and groom chose a very soft and romantic color palette of champagne and blush pink.  The bride carried a bouquet of assorted pink and ivory ranunculus and roses made by Blueberry Springs Florist.  The bridesmaids wore champagne satin floor length gowns and carried bouquets similar to the brides.

The groomsmen wore traditional black and white tuxes champagne spray rose boutonnieres.  For an extra touch they all wore matching argyle socks!

The ceremony was held in the gardens and pomander balls were hung in coordinating flowers across the pergola for the bride and groom to stand under during the ceremony.  I love this picture of Ross’ reaction when he see’s Whitney walking down the aisle.

After the ceremony the guests were welcomed in to the Wicklow Ballroom for a night of dancing and celebration.  The bride created her own table numbers for a personal touch and was able to reuse some of the bridesmaids bouquets for centerpieces on the tables.  Whitney chose a four tiered fondant wedding cake from Cutie Pies and Cakery decorated with pink ribbon around the bottom of each layer. They also offered the sweetest cupcakes iced in pink and ivory icing to their guests.

One of A Kind Music Productions kept the party going all night long and the couple left in a vintage Pontiac convertible.

Congratulations to Ross and Whitney from everyone at Glendalough Manor.

Also a special thank you to Blackbird Photography for these amazing photographs!

Five Alternative Wedding Bouquets

Some brides are choosing to forgo the traditional flower bouquet for bouquets made out of original materials.  There are many reasons to choose an alternative wedding bouquet.  Not only are these alternative bouquets eco friendly but they are also economical!  For all my crafty brides who are on a budget these bouquets can save you hundreds of dollars.  Choosing an alternative bouquet is also very unique which is why this trend is probably not for the traditional bride.   Below are my top five favorite alternative bouquets.

You have probably seen a brooch bouquet before and although these bouquets are a beautiful alternative to a traditional bouquet they can be a little pricey.  A more economical version is buttons!  Layering buttons on top of each other gives a very similar look.

Another great alternative bouquet is using beads, crystals and pearls from a craft shop bundled together. How chic and beautiful are these bouquets?  To me, these are the perfect bouquets for a Winter wedding!

Fabric is another great alternative to a traditional bouquet.  Use different fabric colors and textures to give the bouquet more interest.  I really love the crocheted “flower” in the bouquet below!  I wonder what a bouquet of all crocheted flowers would look like?!

Felt is another great way to make “flowers” for a wedding bouquet.  You can create all different types of flowers with felt including sunflowers and roses.  Felt is super inexpensive and comes in all kinds of colors!

Paper is another great way to make flowers and can be made to look extremely realistic to real flowers. If you aren’t a crafty bride don’t worry. Many of these bouquets can be purchased from handmade Etsy shops for pretty inexpensive.
