Unique Save the Dates!

Saves the Dates are my favorite piece of wedding stationary!  You can be super creative with your save the dates and the best part is that you don’t have to be as formal (like your wedding invitations).  You can give your guests a sneak peak at the date and time but also give them a clue in to your wedding and/or personalities!

I love handmade save the dates!  You can take your own pictures or make your own cards to send and I promise your guests will love them and appreciate the time you put in to make them.  Make sure to put that the invitation will follow and if you have a wedding website I would list that along with the date.  All of the details can be listed on your website(where guests can stay, location of ceremony and reception, where you are registered, etc) without having to include this information on the card.

For my wedding, I did Valentines themed Save the Dates…my wedding was in August so February was a perfect time to send them out.  I made handmade Valentines’ day cards and got calls from almost everyone I sent one to telling me how cute they were.

If you and your fiance love music then this music inspired save the date would fit your personalities perfectly,

Creating your own banner or sign and taking a picture of you and your fiance is a great save the date.  Be creative with it!  My favorite is the photobooth strip!

Or make a miniature banner to include in your save the date cards…how adorable is that?

My new obsession with wedding is balloons…yes balloons..but not used the way they used to be!! They are great for save the date pictures and look at this great save the date idea!

I hope these ideas spark your creativity to come up with your own personal and unique save the dates!

Happy Planning!

50’s Inspired Wedding

If you are having a 50’s inspired wedding or love vintage weddings then you have to take a look at this inspiration board!

Jillian and Scott Mason knew they wanted an outside wedding and that’s one of the reasons the couple chose Glendalough Manor.  They knew it would be the perfect backdrop for their 50’s themed wedding.   Jillian wore a 50’s inspired gown from Etain Bridal Boutique and a birdcage veil.  I thought the best part about her bridal attire was her white gloves. Perfect for her theme!  The bride carried a bouquet of dark red callalilys and roses accented with white feathers. The bridesmaids wore black wiggle dresses and completed their look with red flowers in their hair.  The groomsmen wore black traditional tuxes with red bowties and dark red calla lilys accented their tuxes.

The bride told me she dreamed of having a vintage car at her wedding and was so happy she was able to have one their for photographs.  I thought the bride and groom next to the car was some of the best pictures!

The couple chose black and gold lace linens for the reception with black satin napkins.  The table centerpeices were candelabras and vintage bird cages both adorned with red roses.  They also used the aisle arrangements again as centerepices….a great way to save money on flowers!

Jillian and Scott said it was a perfect day and they wished they could do it all over again!

If you are having a 50’s inspired wedding or a themed wedding we would love to hear about it!

Happy Planning!

Creative Bridal Shower Ideas

I am always on the lookout for fun bridal shower ideas!  If you are a bridesmaid or a Maid/Matron of Honor and have been put in charge of coordinating a bridal shower this can be very daunting task.  You don’t want to disappoint the bride and sometimes it is hard to think of a fun, creative bridal shower idea.   First, make sure you consider the bride and what she loves to do before deciding on an idea.  Most brides are all about relaxing and forgetting about all the stresses of the wedding.  You know her best so the more personal touches
…the better.  If she loves the color pink throw her an all pink shower or if she loves books throw her a “stock the library” shower.

Take a look at some of my new favorite bridal shower ideas and see if they fit your bride!

Art Shower:

If your bride-to-be is an artsy gal, then an art party is perfect for her.  One of the things I love about many of the art party classes is that they are BYOB.  You can bring your favorite bottle of wine and learn to paint a canvas painting or a piece of pottery.  The bride will love it and even if you aren’t a painter you can have fun with it!  (In Atlanta check out Sips n Strokes)

Cake Decorating:

How fun is this?  Especially if she loves cakes or sweets this is such a great idea.  You can purchase small cakes for everyone in attendance and have different color icing and icing tools to decorate their individual cakes.  There are bakeries who will conduct the class for you or if you want a more intimate setting you can do it in your home. (Below is a picture of Vanessa Minnillo’s bridal shower)

Eco Friendly Shower:

If your bride is “green” she will adore this Eco Friendly shower.  An outdoor shower is the perfect backdrop using eco friendly centerpieces and linens.  I like the idea of using herbs like rosemary and thyme in the center of the tables. An idea I saw in Inside Weddings Magazine was to set up a Potting Station with everything for guests to pot their own plants to take home.  Love!

Cooking Classes:

This is perfect for a bride who loves to cook or possibly has no idea how to cook.  Either way it will be a great time for everyone to learn a new dish!

Spa Party:

What bride doesn’t love to be pampered?  For this shower idea you can either go to a spa or you can treat your bride to a day of pedicures at your home. If you hire a few people to do pedicures and serve a light lunch (don’t forget the soothing music) your bride won’t want to leave!

Tell us about your bridal shower ideas!! We would love to feature your shower on our blog!

Happy Planning!
