I am so excited to share the rest of this wedding with you!

Joseph and Jessica were married in the gardens at Glendalough Manor on September 28, 2012.  The couple said they fell in love with Glendalough Manor as soon as they saw it online. They knew they wanted to be married outside and have their reception indoors. The bride says she was “blown away by the pictures of the gardens and the building.  Once we visited the grounds and met the staff, we knew this place was a perfect fit for us!”

With the help of the event staff at Glendalough Manor, the ceremony began promptly at 4:00 in the evening.  The couple chose to have all of her bridal party come from the top of the bridge and walk down to the pergola.  The bride chose to also walk from the top of the bridge and make the walk down to the back of the aisle to be given away.

A sand ceremony was included in their emotional and heartfelt ceremony. If you are unfamiliar with a sand ceremony it is similar in meaning to lighting a unity candle.  One of the great parts about a sand ceremony in an outdoor ceremony is that you don’t have to worry about wind and keeping candles lit.

After the ceremony the guests were invited to the reception in the Avondale ballroom. The bride chose ivory linens, ivory napkins and used square and round tables provided by Glendalough Manor.  The bride kept the centerpieces for the guest tables classic using a tall glass vase filled with full sized calla lily’s.

The couple chose to sit a sweetheart table lined with small vases of yellow calla lilies submerged in the vase.

One of my favorite details of the wedding was the wedding favor placed on the napkins in the ballroom describing their love of sweets.

The bride and groom only stopped dancing to cut the beautiful wedding cake and throw the bouquet.

The bride said “I would have to say my favorite part of the day was the reception. It was great to relax with my husband and see all of our guests having fun!”

The happy couple departed with guests holding sparklers and left in a beautiful classic car!  The bride says her “advice to future brides is to start planning and making decisions early! Also, don’t stress too much over the little things, just enjoy the process – it will only happen once!”
