Glendalough Manor Real Wedding: Kristen and Steven

Kristen and Steven

Glendalough Manor

May 26, 2012

Kristen and Steven met in February of 2006 while attending a social event their freshmen year in college at the University of Tennessee.  On May 26, 2012, six years later, Kristen and Steven were married in the beautiful gardens of Glendalough Manor.  The couple knew one of the most important aspects of the wedding was the venue.  As soon as they pulled into the parking lot they knew Glendalough Manor was the perfect place. It was the outdoorsy yet formal feeling they were looking for.  They put down their deposit that day, nailed down the date, and started planning a wedding! They didn’t look anywhere else once they had found this gem!

The couple chose navy with touches of green and ivory as their wedding colors. Kristen looked phenomenal in a lace gown with a sweetheart neckline and keyhole back.  She also wore a customized beaded navy belt to add a touch of color to her dress and an off white flower in her hair!   We also have to mention her ah-mazing wedding shoes!

Kristen walked down the aisle carrying an all white and ivory bouquet with small touches of green created by Blueberry Springs.  A beautiful photo locket was pinned to the bridal bouquet to remember a loved one.  Steven wore a white orchid boutonniere to match Kristen’s bridal bouquet.

The ceremony pergola was draped in ivory fabric with matching navy and ivory flowers.  Kristen says  “On the day of the wedding, I couldn’t eat or sit still. I was pacing all day, and could not calm myself down. The interesting thing is that as soon as I was completely ready and looking at myself in the mirror, all of my fears went away. Walking down the aisle, I felt totally comfortable. Steven and I were laughing through our ceremony. It felt as if no one else was there with us.”  The couple had a beautiful and emotional ceremony officiated by Grant Cole.  Stephanie Hamlet, one of Glendalough Manor’s preferred photographers, was there to capture every moment of this beautiful ceremony and reception!

The bridesmaids wore floor length navy satin dresses and a navy flower in their hair to match the bride. Steven and his groomsmen wore khaki colored suits. The groom wore a white vest and striped tie with the groomsmen wearing navy vests and navy striped ties.

One of my favorite pictures was of the bridesmaids…can you name the movie?  Too cute!

After the ceremony guests were invited in to the Avondale Ballroom at Glendalough Manor for a night of dancing and celebrating the newly married couple.

One of A Kind Music Productions kept everyone on the dance floor!

Kristen says the whole day was absolutely perfect, fun, and most importantly just felt “right”. When she thinks back to her wedding day, she finds herself smiling from ear to ear!  Her advice to other brides is to be open to change. “The weekend goes by so quickly and is such a blur. Steven and I decided to go out with friends and family after our wedding, and I am so glad that we did. I didn’t envision spending time at a restaurant bar on my wedding night, but it ended up being one our my favorite parts of the weekend.”

Congratulations the to new Mr. and Mrs. from everyone at Glendalough Manor!

Thank you to Stephanie Hamlet for these stunning photographs!!
