A New Year’s Eve Wedding

Happy New Year!

Are you recently engaged and still trying to decide on a date? Why not have your wedding on New Years Eve 2013!  Your wedding will probably be the biggest party you may ever throw.  Consider combining your wedding with New Years to continue the party until well after midnight.

You can use any wedding colors for a New Years Eve wedding so don’t think you have to use black and silver as your only colors.  Just add a little sparkle and you will have a perfect New Years Eve color palette.

Consider adding some sparkle to your wedding attire by wearing a sequined belt, hairpiece, sparkly shoes or carry a gorgeous bouquet of all crystals. If you want to be daring wear an all sequined gown!  Another option is to change in to a sparkly “party” dress for the reception so you can still wear a traditional dress for the ceremony.

One of my favorite ideas for a New Years Eve reception is to have a resolution tree for guests to write and hang their NYE resolutions for the coming year. Such a great idea!

Hats and noise makers for guests at the end of the evening are a must.  Don’t forget to have a few clocks around the room so guests can keep up with the time.  This one personalized with the couples names is my favorite idea.

Before midnight you can pass out champagne with numbers on them counting down the seconds before the new year.

For the countdown see if your venue would allow a confetti or balloon drop over the guests.  I love the pictures of the bride and groom with all of their guests kissing right after the New Year.

If budget allows a firework show after bringing in the New Year is an awesome way to end the night!  If you don’t have the budget, try choosing a venue close to a place that may be doing fireworks so you don’t have to pay for them but can enjoy the show.  Or just use sparklers as a festive sendoff!

Wedding Trend 2013: Gold Wedding Dresses!

If you want a wedding dress that stands out from the crowd, you may want to consider a colored wedding dress.  Wedding dress designers are creating gowns in all different colors from deep red to muted blush tones.   The new hot color for 2013 is gold!!  Gold is a huge color in fashion right now and is showing up on bridal runways everywhere.

Depending on how bold you want to be on your wedding day will reflect in the shade and amount of gold on your gown.  If you want a subtle touch of gold you can choose to add a gold sash.

Or choose a dress in a soft shade of gold. This gives a similar look to an ivory gown with a little more shine and richness.

Choosing a classic silhouette, like the ball gown below, in a gold color mixes the traditional silhouette with the modern color palette.

If you are a modern bride, then why not reflect that with a gold dress that pulls out all the punches.  These dresses use crystal embellishments to add even more sparkle to the gold wedding gowns.

You can even choose a gown with gold sequins to be completely unique. I truly love this idea for the right wedding…think New Years wedding!?!
