Wedding Hair 2013: Ponytails

An easy casual way to wear your hair is in a ponytail. This year the ponytail has went from casual to stunning!

I love the look of wearing a casual updo with a fancy wedding dress.  With a simple updo the focus is on your face and not your hair. Another great thing about a classic ponytail is that is easy to do yourself and can save you money by not hiring a professional hairstylist.  This look is also a nice classic look for bridesmaids.

For a natural organic look try waving your hair and putting it in a ponytail!  Make sure to tie your hair around the ponytail holder for a more finished look!

My favorite ponytail is worn off to the side with massive curls!

If you don’t have long hair, get some extensions to make a fuller ponytail!

Short Wedding Hairstyles

We all know that short-haired girls get married too 😉 but there are very few pictures of brides in magazines with short hair.  Many brides think they have to grow their hair out for the big day or they won’t look like a “bride”.  It may be true that there are not as many styles as long hair but there are plenty of options to fit every bride and her style. I have chosen a few of my favorite hairstyles and ideas for all my short haired brides.  Depending on the texture and length of your hair will determine which of these styles will fit you best.

I have to say my all time favorite style for short hair has to be the “Old Hollywood Glam” hairstyles.  I think these styles are timeless, beautiful and great for most lengths of short hair.

If you want a more natural look, you can wear your hair tousled with a few curls and a hair accessory like a flower or veil.

For an evening wedding you can always wear your hair slicked back or curled under with a glossy finish.

If you have more of a pixie cut, wear it pushed forward.

Another style that works well is to wear hair pulled back with volume.  Just let the strands fall for a softer look.

Don’t be afraid of hair accessories with short hair.  I love headbands, flowers, small clips and short veils to show off your short hair!

I hope these hairstyles have helped you decide on your wedding hair!

Let us know if you like any of these styles!

Happy Planning!
