Short Wedding Hairstyles

We all know that short-haired girls get married too 😉 but there are very few pictures of brides in magazines with short hair.  Many brides think they have to grow their hair out for the big day or they won’t look like a “bride”.  It may be true that there are not as many styles as long hair but there are plenty of options to fit every bride and her style. I have chosen a few of my favorite hairstyles and ideas for all my short haired brides.  Depending on the texture and length of your hair will determine which of these styles will fit you best.

I have to say my all time favorite style for short hair has to be the “Old Hollywood Glam” hairstyles.  I think these styles are timeless, beautiful and great for most lengths of short hair.

If you want a more natural look, you can wear your hair tousled with a few curls and a hair accessory like a flower or veil.

For an evening wedding you can always wear your hair slicked back or curled under with a glossy finish.

If you have more of a pixie cut, wear it pushed forward.

Another style that works well is to wear hair pulled back with volume.  Just let the strands fall for a softer look.

Don’t be afraid of hair accessories with short hair.  I love headbands, flowers, small clips and short veils to show off your short hair!

I hope these hairstyles have helped you decide on your wedding hair!

Let us know if you like any of these styles!

Burlap and Lace Wedding

At first thought this may seem like an unlikely pairing but after seeing it together I am in love with this combination.  Something about the rough, woodsy feeling of burlap and the soft, elegant feel of lace go together perfectly.

I think this combination works best if the bride incorporates lace in to her wedding attire.  That doesn’t mean you have to wear an entire lace dress but incorporating it in to your veil, head piece, gloves or even sash would be the perfect way to pull this theme together.

There are so many different ways to have a burlap and lace wedding. Here are some inspiration photos and ideas to make this combination look beautiful together.

For the flowers, try tying burlap around the bridesmaids bouquets and tying the bridal bouquet with lace and burlap to give the perfect touch of both in the flowers.

Burlap and lace make beautiful table runners or chair ties for your guest tables and is such an easy and simple way to add to your theme.

You can also tie lace or burlap around the vases for your flowers.

Favor boxes with a burlap flower give is a beautiful gift to give your guests.

Another touch are these amazing lace lanterns, these are a great DIY project!

The wedding cake can even mimic the lace on your dress!

If you want to have a cupcake wedding cake, these cupcakes would be perfect!

I hope these ideas and pictures have given your the inspiration to have your own burlap and lace wedding!

Creative Escort Card Ideas!

After your ceremony is over the first thing your guests will see before entering your reception is your escort card table.  This is the first glimpse in to the theme or overall feeling of your reception.  You want to make sure this table makes a statement about your event.  Many brides do not put a lot of effort in to the design of their escort table and, although I agree you shouldn’t spend too much time on it, I think it is a very important part of your event.

You want to make your escort cards visually appealing while also making sure they are functional. Try not to think of a concept that will confuse your guests or delay them entering in to the reception.  No matter how beautiful your escort table looks it will still upset your guests if it is a confusing process to find their name.

First think of your theme or feeling of your event and start brainstorming ideas that would match your wedding. For a beach themed wedding you could use sand dollars placed in sand with shells!  Or look how cute this paper looks when it is bent to look like a beach chair?  Just add an umbrella and you are instantly taken to the beach!

This idea is so cute for an outside garden wedding!

If you have a signature drink or a favorite soda you can tie a string with the names and table # around the bottle or glass.

With a vintage themed wedding you can use an old door to hang your escort cards…love this!

Or you can use luggage tags decorated Washi Tape (my new favorite decorating tool)!

This idea may not be for everyone but for a vintage wedding you can use ties and bow ties as a way to display your escort cards!

To make a statement you don’t always need to have a unique idea.  Sometimes it is all about how they are displayed to make an impact.

I love the idea of using mirrors or frames on the table as a way to display your escort cards.

Two of my favorite DIY ideas for escort cards are below.  How amazing does it look to use paint chips in varying shades of your wedding colors!

And another favorite is the paper airplanes.  It would have to be for the right wedding but how original is this idea?

I hope these ideas have helped you come up with your own unique idea!! If you have a fun way you are going to display your escort cards we would love for you to share!
