Ikat Wedding Inspiration

One of the hottest patterns of the year is Ikat!  It is no wonder that this awesome pattern is becoming the newest inspiration for weddings.  The Ikat pattern is one of my favorite patterns since it typically incorporates a variety of colors.  You can use these colors to create the perfect wedding palette.

Choosing the perfect Ikat invitation is a great way to give your guests a glimpse in to the colors and theme of your wedding.

One way to use the Ikat pattern is to choose an Ikat bridesmaid dress!  If a dress is to much pattern for you, look at having your girls carry an Ikat purse or shoes.  Ikat shoes are also a great way for you as the bride to wear a white traditional wedding dress but also wear Ikat.

My favorite way to use Ikat in a wedding is with the reception table linens. For a bold look use an Ikat floor length linen or for a more subtle look use an Ikat table runner.

And the cake is another great and unique way to add the Ikat pattern in to your wedding theme!

You can even find Ikat boxes perfect for a wedding favor!

Nautical Wedding Inspiration

A classic wedding theme that is perfect for couples who love for the ocean is a nautical wedding theme.   In my opinion it isn’t a nautical wedding without incorporating the color navy.  You can choose to use navy as your main wedding color or pair it with another color like yellow, red or even pink!

In designing your nautical themed wedding there are so many elements that you can incorporate.  For example, some brides choose to use the anchor throughout the wedding including on the invitations and even the cake.

One of my favorite ideas is to use an actual boat in the decor.  You can use it to string the place cards for guest seating or even to hold drinks during the reception.

Don’t be afraid to play with patterns like this large striped linen or even the navy chevron wedding cake!

Use the same pattern to cover the stems of your bouquet!  You can also use elements like rope for the grooms boutonniere.

Rope is also a great accent for other elements throughout your wedding.  It looks gorgeous in a bouquet or even on a wedding cake!

Look how cute this idea is to have guests leave you a “message in a bottle” instead of having a traditional sign in book!

Also love the idea of using paddles to create a directional sign!

Trend Alert: Arrows!

You can thank the movie “Hunger Games” for a new trend in 2013; arrows!  Arrows have become very popular this year in the fashion industry showing up on jewelry and clothing.  You will even start to see arrows in home decor.  With the popularity in the fashion world, brides have been inspired to use arrows in everything from invitations to wedding cakes. Whether you know the movie “Hunger Games” or not, arrows can end up adding a modern touch to your wedding decor.  Here are some arrow wedding inspiration for you to consider!

Invitations give your guests a glimpse in to the type of wedding they will attend.  For an arrow themed wedding this stationary is the perfect choice!

I love the idea of using arrows for the guest seating cards.  Just add the place card to each arrow or use a large heart to display the arrows for a dramatic look.

Arrows look great tied as pew ends, used as table decor, or can even be bundled and carried as a bouquet!
