Bridal Hair Accessories

Unless you are royalty, wearing a tiara for your wedding ceremony is out and beautiful hair accessories are in!  So many brides are saying “no thank you” to wearing the traditional veil and using hair accessories to glam up their look.  In recent weddings, some brides are deciding to wear both…a traditional veil for the ceremony and then after the formal pictures use a hair accessory to complete their more “fun” reception look.  Some brides don’t like the idea of changing in to another wedding dress after the ceremony.  I get it…you paid enough for the first dress, plus you love it so much, so why change?  I totally agree, and the easiest way to freshen up your look for the reception is to use a hair accessory to wow your guests again!

Here are some of my favorites from Sara Gabriel Veils and Headpieces.

On the hair accessory below you can even change the color of the flower…which is perfect for bridesmaids to wear too!

Headbands are back in a big way for weddings!!   These aren’t the 80’s headbands you can remember, they are beautiful and elegant and give the perfect pop to your bridal wear!

If you were thinking about wearing a flower in your hair but worried it wouldn’t last all day then this headband with one of my fave flowers, the anemone, is the perfect way to wear a flower in your hair with no worries!

If you are having a peacock themed wedding, this is the perfect hair accesory for you!

Whatever your style, I can promise there is the right hair accessory for you! Let us know what you think about this bridal fashion trend!

Yummy Favors!

I believe one of the best ways to treat your guests to an amazing experience is by giving them a unique, creative favor that they can go home with.  There are many different types of creative and fun favors you can give your guests but my biggest advice is to make it personal to you and your fiancé.  If it is something you love and want to share it with your guests, it will make the favor all the more special.  You want your guests to enjoy the favor they take home and I promise anything yummy and edible will not be left behind!   Here are some of my favorite ideas!

Everyone is looking for cute favors they can make yourself, well why not use popcorn?  Just put popcorn in cellophane bags with a cute DIY tag in your wedding colors reading “Love is Popping up Everywhere” or even just a thank you note for coming.  Guests will love it, especially if guests know you love popcorn or play baseball or softball.

Cotton Candy Favors!  I know it isn’t a circus but who doesn’t like feeling like a kid every now and then.  Cotton Candy comes in a variety of colors and this sticky sweet treat is a perfect way to end a long night of dancing.

Another great DIY favor is S’mores!  I love this idea if you are getting married when it is a little chilly outside.  Just give them the tools to make their own s’more with a piece of chocolate, graham cracker and marshmallow.

If you make homemade preserves and jellies they are a perfect favor (especially in flavors they can’t buy all the time…Muscadine and guava to name a few).  Giving your guests something homemade is always a heartfelt “thank you for coming”.  Guests can enjoy this over the next few months and think about your fun wedding as they eat their Sunday breakfast! =)

Lastly,I love bottled favors guests can enjoy at a later time!  If you and your fiancé drink coke all the time why not pass out glass coke bottles or another favorite drink. Or a bottle of your favorite champagne or wine…if you can make your own that’s even better!

I hope these pictures and ideas inspire you to come up with your own creative and yummy favors for your guests. If you are giving a yummy favor idea not listed here I would love to hear about it!

Wedding Colors for Spring 2012

If you are trying to decide on a color palette for your spring wedding in 2012, make sure to check out the Pantone Fashion Color Report. Look at mixing and matching these colors to pick your favorite combination.
The new trend is to take a neon color and mix with a pastel color.  Pantone also suggests combining this with a more neutral color like Driftwood, or Starfish, to complete your perfect color combination.

Pantone Fashion Color Report Spring 2012

In 2011 many brides were incorporating one of my favorite colors in to their wedding….purple! I love the idea of picking a bold color like Cockatoo to compliment Sweet Lilac.  It gives a great contrast and new color combination for 2012!

Or if you want to be bold mix Cockatoo with Tangerine Tango…almost makes you feel like you are at the beach enjoying the sunset!

Another favorite is the Sodalite Blue and Solar Power….classic color combination with a twist!

  Just gorgeous!

For all the brides that love pink try Caberet and Granita to give a soft romantic feel to your wedding….I think it’s just the right amount of pink!

I hope these color combinations have helped in your search for the perfect wedding colors for you!  We would love to hear what new color combinations you have chosen!

Happy Planning!
