Lounge Areas are Back for 2013!

Lounge areas became popular in 2012 and will continue to be an exciting trend in 2013!  These small areas are set up to allow guests to relax and “lounge” either during the cocktail hour or during the reception.  This space sets up a nice mingling area and invites guests to sit back and enjoy the event.

If you are looking to set up a lounge area you may be able to use furniture you already have.  Don’t worry about the furniture having to match. Especially for a vintage wedding mismatching furniture adds to the overall theme.  Just add some matching pillows to all of the furniture to pull everything together.

For a more modern, matching look there are plenty of furniture rental companies that have everything from couches to coffee tables.  You don’t have to have enough furniture for all of your guests.  This area is meant to be small and intimate.

A great way to add some drama to an inside wedding is with lighting.  Colored lighting around a lounge area sets the perfect mood.

Some brides choose to have a separate room or area for the lounge.  I love how they used a tent and draping to enclose the lounge area while still making it feel open.  Candlelight and chandeliers are always a nice touch if budget allows!

Some brides decide to have the lounge set up right inside the reception so guests can take a break from dancing!

Whether you decide to set up the lounge in a separate area or inside the reception, it is sure to be a hit with all of your guests!
