Wedding Trends: Chicken Wire

You may be wondering how chicken wire could ever be used at a wedding?  I have to admit I was questioning this trend too but just wait until you see some of these amazing ways that chicken wire can be used.  Once you look at some of these ideas it should clear any doubt you have.  Of course using chicken wire for your wedding decor is not for every bride but if you are having a rustic wedding or casual affair chicken wire may be the perfect decor item for you!

I love the idea of attaching chicken wire to a frame and using it as a holder for the place cards.   You can use the same idea and build a large wooden frame with chicken wire attached to make a dramatic and unique backdrop!

Take chicken wire and wrap it around to make a cone.  Add some flowers inside and these make simple DIY pew ends for the ceremony.

Chicken wire wrapped around small glass vases or mason jars make beautiful votives when you put a candle inside.  You can even hang them to light up the ceremony or reception.

Of course succulents look beautiful in the wedding centerpieces.  You can choose to accent the centerpieces with a few succulents or have centerpieces only made with different types of plants and succulents.

Wedding Balloons: A “Do” or a “Don’t”?

When you think about balloons you probably think about kids birthday parties but many brides are using balloons as wedding decor!  Let’s face it, balloons do make you feel happy and isn’t that what a wedding is all about?  I had my reservations about balloons at weddings but after seeing some of these ideas I just might be changing my mind.  Take a look at all the ways brides are incorporating balloons in to their weddings and let me know what you think!

A super cute first look idea we have mentioned before is to use balloons for your first look. Just hold the balloons in front of your faces and release them when you are ready to see each other for the first time!

There are many ways brides are using balloons to decorate their ceremony.  You can use over sized balloons as pew ends or for a modern look use balloons to create a backdrop for the ceremony!

A cute idea is to have your flower girl carry a large balloon down the aisle instead of dropping petals.  I love this idea for an outdoor wedding!

For the reception, a few large balloons make a pretty backdrop for a cake table.

For a unique look, use balloons for the table numbers! If you use large balloons it almost creates a canopy of balloons!

Even if you decide not to use balloons as decor for the wedding, they do make a great photography prop!
