A new trend showing up at weddings this year are laser cut designs. Laser cut is an intricately cut out pattern resembling either lace or a geometric design. You will see laser cut designs in everything from wedding stationary to wedding gowns. These laser cut designs work perfectly for almost any wedding and especially work well for rustic or vintage weddings.
Laser cut designs in weddings started with the popularity of laser cut invitations. A laser is used to cut these invitations in to intricate designs and some are placed over a colored card stock giving it a modern yet vintage look. Laser cut stationary is becoming very popular and being seen in all types of wedding stationary from banners, signs, save the date cards and place cards.
Designers are now using this laser cut design as inspiration for wedding gowns!
You can’t forget about the accessories! Laser cut jewelry and shoes are also showing up with the laser cut design.
Cupcakes liners and cakes are another way to pull in the laser cut design.
As you can see there are many ways you can incorporate laser cut designs in to the details of your wedding. You can find laser cut boxes for favors or laser cut runners for the tables. You can even use luminary bags with a laser cut design as centerpieces!

If you want a wedding dress that stands out from the crowd, you may want to consider a colored wedding dress. Wedding dress designers are creating gowns in all different colors from deep red to muted blush tones. The new hot color for 2013 is gold!! Gold is a huge color in fashion right now and is showing up on bridal runways everywhere.
Depending on how bold you want to be on your wedding day will reflect in the shade and amount of gold on your gown. If you want a subtle touch of gold you can choose to add a gold sash.
Or choose a dress in a soft shade of gold. This gives a similar look to an ivory gown with a little more shine and richness.
Choosing a classic silhouette, like the ball gown below, in a gold color mixes the traditional silhouette with the modern color palette.
If you are a modern bride, then why not reflect that with a gold dress that pulls out all the punches. These dresses use crystal embellishments to add even more sparkle to the gold wedding gowns.
You can even choose a gown with gold sequins to be completely unique. I truly love this idea for the right wedding…think New Years wedding!?!
What do you think of this gold wedding gown trend? Love it or hate it?
If you don’t know yet, one of the hottest trends in 2012 and 2013 are late night snacks! These tiny bites of goodness usually served towards the end of your wedding make the perfect snack after a long night of partying and celebrating. The more unique the snack, the more impact it can make. Most guests aren’t expecting any more food for the evening so this little sweet or savory treat can be a great unexpected surprise!
Some of my favorite late night snacks are ones that the bride and groom enjoy! If you love hamburgers or hotdogs, try serving mini versions. I love how one bride packed these up in a “to go” box for the guests to take home!
Guests love comfort food! You can even choose to pass out small small containers of french fries or have a french fry bar! This would go great with the mini hot dogs or sliders!
If you or your groom prefer sweets, serve your guests doughnuts, milk and cookies, or my favorite from Glendalough Manor is the homemade assorted mini milkshakes. Delicious!
Everyone loves something at a fair so why not offer some of the same yummy choices like snow cones, cotton candy or popcorn!!
Or if you can’t decide choose something savory and sweet….my favorite is bacon dipped in chocolate!!! Yum!!!
