Wedding Stripes!

One of my new loves in wedding decor are stripes!  You can find stripes anywhere from stationary and table linens to bridesmaid dresses.  Brides this year are not afraid of mixing patterns and colors to create dimension and interest in to the overall design of the wedding.

Stripes are a perfect addition to most any wedding adding some modern elements to a traditional color palette.  For example, a black and white wedding can seem like a simple color palette but when mixed with stripes it becomes interesting and bold in design.

Stripes are also showing up in bridesmaid dresses.  Thick or thin stripes look great on most body types as long as you choose the right silhouette.

Even guys are joining in on the action and wearing striped bow ties, ties or pocket squares.

I also love using striped fabric in the flowers to wrap the bouquets or boutonnieres.

Wedding cakes are joining in on the stripe trend taking a traditional cake and making it unique with stripes!

2012 Fall/Winter Wedding Colors

Are you having a Fall or Winter wedding and are can’t decide which colors to use?  You are in luck! Pantone has come out with their Fall/Winter 2012 Fashion Report with the hottest colors in fashion.

This years Fall/Winter Fashion Report has a color for everyone!  There is a mixture of bright colors and muted tones to fit any brides personality.    If you want to be on the edge of fashion trends with your wedding colors, try combining some of these colors to make your perfect color palette!

Here are some of my favorite color combinations:

French Roast and Tangerine Tango have to be the the most bold and beautiful color pairing for Fall.  I love how the Tangerine Tango is so bold against the French Roast.  You can also pair this with Honey Gold to richen the color palette.

My favorite new color combination for fall is Titanium and Ultramarine Green!  I am in love with this color green and Titanium is the perfect grey tone to compliment this deep yet vibrant green.

Blush tones are a new way to capture the essence of winter!  Pairing Rhapsody, Titanium and Rose Smoke are beautiful together showing off a soft, romantic feeling.

Honey Gold and Olympian Blue are also a perfect Fall/Winter color combination.  The Honey Gold is the perfect neutral to the brightness of the Olympian Blue.

Which color combination is your favorite?  We want to know!

Blue and Yellow Wedding

I would have to say blue and yellow weddings are some of my favorite.  Pantone came out with the top colors for 2012 with soladite blue and solar power being among them.  These colors work perfectly together to make a timeless and beautiful color combination.

Blue and yellow are great for any season but especially work in the summer with the bright yellow flowers.  Pairing this color combination with ivory is the perfect way to accent the colors and break up the boldness of each color.

My favorite part about a blue and yellow wedding are the gorgeous blue bridesmaids dresses paired with bright yellow bouquets that looks beautiful against the darker dresses and will show up great for photography.

Some brides are evening using soladite blue, solar power and hints of gray and/or green as accent colors which give a more earthy casual feel to the wedding.

For the reception tables you can choose to use more yellow or more blue in your linens.  My favorite look is to go with an all blue or patterned blue overlay  and use yellow flowers that will stand out and be seen on the tables.

Leave us your thoughts on this yellow and blue wedding color combination!!  We want to hear what you think!
