Wedding Hairstyles 2013: Let Your Hair Down!

When you think of typical bridal hair most people think about an up-do. Well, that may be changing as many brides in 2013 are deciding to wear their hair down.  Of course up-do’s of all sorts will never go out of style, but brides in 2013 aren’t afraid of thinking outside the box and taking their everyday hair and kicking it up a notch.

There are so many ways to wear your hair down without it looking like your “everyday” hairstyle.  One of the most popular ways is to have voluminous curls!

Adding a little extra bling or wearing a small headpiece always dresses up locks that are worn down.

Soft waves are my favorite new hairstyle for brides!  It looks so natural yet sultry and beautiful!

I especially love old hollywood waves.  It doesn’t get any classier than that!

One of the newest ways to wear your hair down is to give your hair a little extra texture to give you the messy look.  Messy hair against the formal dress gives off a beautiful contrast.

Or you can always wear your hair straight if you normally wear it curly.  This will give you a different look than everyday but still give a very natural look.

Would you wear your hair down for your wedding? Which of these looks do you like?

Short Wedding Hairstyles

We all know that short-haired girls get married too 😉 but there are very few pictures of brides in magazines with short hair.  Many brides think they have to grow their hair out for the big day or they won’t look like a “bride”.  It may be true that there are not as many styles as long hair but there are plenty of options to fit every bride and her style. I have chosen a few of my favorite hairstyles and ideas for all my short haired brides.  Depending on the texture and length of your hair will determine which of these styles will fit you best.

I have to say my all time favorite style for short hair has to be the “Old Hollywood Glam” hairstyles.  I think these styles are timeless, beautiful and great for most lengths of short hair.

If you want a more natural look, you can wear your hair tousled with a few curls and a hair accessory like a flower or veil.

For an evening wedding you can always wear your hair slicked back or curled under with a glossy finish.

If you have more of a pixie cut, wear it pushed forward.

Another style that works well is to wear hair pulled back with volume.  Just let the strands fall for a softer look.

Don’t be afraid of hair accessories with short hair.  I love headbands, flowers, small clips and short veils to show off your short hair!

I hope these hairstyles have helped you decide on your wedding hair!

Sleek Up-do Wedding Hair

We all know that brides are most concerned with how they are going to look on their wedding day.  You want to feel the most beautiful on your wedding day since all eyes will be on you.  One of the most important things (besides the wedding gown) is how to fix your hair!  The hair completes the look and as a bride you want it to look fabulous.  A trend for 2012 bridal hair is a sleek and stylish up-do.  Brides have had sleek up do’s for years but for 2012 an up do has taken on a new twist!

Here are some of my favorite sleek up-dos!

The low bun has always been a hit with brides. This year is no exception but for 2012 these buns create a little more interest with volume, large curls and hair accessories.

I love the 1940’s vintage style and this up-do is a new take on an old classic hairstyle!

This up-do has a 1940’s feel however it uses a very loose braid to create this up-do.  Beautiful!

Tyra’s style has a peek-a-boo bang with a low bun. So elegant!

This up do has a more traditional front but the back view has a different take on a french twist!

If you want a more traditional look, the hair below might be perfect for you!  These styles blend traditional with a modern edge.

If you were looking for a sleek and stunning updo I hope this helped in your search!

Happy Planning!
