Unique Wedding Lighting

To create the right mood, you need the right lighting!  The right lighting can make an ordinary space in to something extraordinary.  If you are looking to make an impact at your event, lighting is a great way to do that!  Here are a few unique ways lighting can be used for a ceremony or reception to make a big impact.

Every bride thinks about using votive candles for her guest tables but have you thought about making a design in the grass or along a pathway?  This idea is simple and inexpensive to achieve.

You can also use large lanterns or luminaries for a bigger impact.  It will give a similar look but you won’t need as many!

To add a pop of color use tissue paper inside mason jars! This look so stunning at night!

For an indoor reception space that lacks character use lighting along the walls to create a certain mood.  My favorite way to transform the space is to use a pattern on the walls or ceilings.

For all of my crafty brides you can make your own sign using light bulbs.  Not only does it create mood lighting in a creative way but you can create it to say any saying you want!

New Trend: Glamping!

Camping may not be your idea of fun but glamping might be.  Glamping is a term combining glamour and camping and is all about luxury.  It is like staying in a 5 star hotel but in your own private tent.  Brides are loving the idea of a glamping wedding where all of the guests stay in their own luxury tents with the wedding ceremony and reception nearby.

These tents can even have bathrooms!!!  Or you can even rent luxury bathroom tents!

If you want to have a glamping wedding, I would suggest consulting a company or location that specializes in these luxury tents.  They can help this idea come to life especially if you want your guests to have their own tents.  Of course, you can imagine having a glamping wedding isn’t cheap.

I love the idea of the activities you get to do while glamping like bike riding, fishing and roasting marshmallows by the fire.

I think glamping combines the best of both worlds…luxury accomodations and the outdoors. I would love to attend a glamping wedding.  Would you?

Ways to Pamper Your Wedding Guests

Many of your guests will travel from all over the country to come and witness you and your fiance tie the knot.  Along the way they will spend a good bit of money on travel expenses, hotel accommodations, and food.  A nice way to say thank you is to pamper your guests in small ways that can make a big impact!

One way to say thank you to all the out of town guests even before the wedding begins is with welcome baskets.  My favorite way to create these baskets is to theme them for the state or area of the wedding and leave them in the hotel room for when they arrive.

Another way to pamper your guests is during the ceremony.  I love this idea of offering handkerchiefs for guests.  Not only does this help with happy tears and “pampers” your guests but it doubles as the perfect keepsake wedding favor.

You can also give your guests small items to keep them comfortable during your ceremony.  My favorite is personalized sunglasses! Or you can give umbrellas, fans, or blankets depending on the weather to keep them cool or warm.

If you want guests to dance the night away, combat those tired and hurting feet by offering flip flops!

During the reception a small gesture to pamper guests is to make an emergency basket for the guests. Include mints, band aids, medicine, etc for all the mishaps that could happen! Getting married at Glendalough Manor?  You won’t need to worry about making these baskets because they provide them for you!

Don’t forget about the guys! Have a cigar bar at the reception and they may never want to leave!
