Wedding Ideas: Remembering Loved Ones

Your wedding day may be bittersweet if you have a loved one that has passed and won’t be there to share in your special day.  To honor your loved ones there are a few ideas that you can do to remember them on your wedding day.

An easy way to remember them is to use a candle with a sign to encompass all loved ones.

Or use pictures in frames on a mantle, table or bookshelf.  You can even hang small pictures from a flower arrangement.

I love this idea of hanging pictures near your ceremony location like this couple did.  I think this makes such a statement of who is there in spirit!

Another idea at the ceremony is to reserve a chair in their honor.  You can place flowers or a picture on the chair as well to mark where they would have sat if they could have been there.

You can also carry pictures of loved ones with you.  Small lockets with pictures of loved ones can be incorporated in to your bouquet and can even be used as a boutonniere.

Wedding Popsicles

The newest way to keep your guests cool at a Summer wedding is to treat them with popsicles! Who doesn’t love a popsicle on a hot Summer day? These yummy popsicles are showing up at weddings all over and guests are going gaga over these sweet treats.

The great thing about popsicles is there are so many different flavors and colors to fit any wedding.  You can hire a popsicle truck or ask your caterer to serve them or look at making them yourself to save money!

My favorite idea is to combine popsicles with alcohol as a unique signature drink! Put a flavored popsicle in a glass of champagne and as it melts it takes on the flavor of the popsicle.

Wedding Decor: Creative Draping Ideas

Draping is an easy way to transform a space from average to awesome! If you want to hide ugly ceilings and walls or just make a space more romantic, look at draping the space.  White or ivory draping is the most popular color and is seen at many wedding ceremonies.  Although I still love the classic white draping, you can choose colored draping for a modern look.  Take a look at this pale peach draping for a twist on the traditional white used to accentuate the doors in to the ceremony location.

Don’t be afraid of color for the ceremony! I love this bold yellow paired paired with white to soften such a bright color.

Of course draping is gorgeous for the cocktail hour and reception as well as the ceremony.  I love the colored draping to transform your venue in to a modern atmosphere.

Tents can be boring but with draping you can enjoy the outdoors in a beautiful environment.  As an added tip make sure to add beautiful lighting to complete the space.

Do you love this colored draping?  Or do you prefer the classic white draping?
