2013 Wedding Trend: Floral Wedding

Patterns are showing up all over the wedding industry and one of the patterns showing up in 2012 and on trend for 2013 is floral!  You will start to see weddings incorporating floral patterns in to almost any detail of their wedding.  From the wedding attire to the wedding details, floral details give a romantic and vintage feel.

Floral invitations are a great way to give your guests the first glimpse in to the floral theme and overall feeling of your wedding.

Bridesmaids dresses are one of my favorite ways to use floral at your wedding!  I even love blending different floral dresses in coordinating colors.

Use floral details at the reception like floral table runners or napkins.  One of the biggest things to remember when incorporating floral patterns into your wedding is to try and mix and match patterns.  Try not to match everything to one floral and pick coordinating patterns and blend them together.  Using one floral pattern throughout the wedding can begin to look over the top and not current.

Of course incorporating floral centerpieces pulls the theme together. You can also use garden flowers in a bud vase with a name tag attached for the place cards and they can double as a great wedding favor.

Another great wedding favor is a packet of seeds for your guests to make their own flower garden. Love the beautiful sayings painted on the packet of seeds.

A Watercolor Wedding Theme

If you love art, appreciate the beauty of watercolor paintings or just love the look of blending colors together, a watercolor wedding may be perfect for you!

Invitations and stationary are a great place to start when planning a watercolor wedding.    There are many watercolor invitations to choose from with coordinating stationary.  If you are an artsy bride, water color invitations and other wedding stationary like escort cards and programs make great DIY projects!

An easy way to pull this theme together is to choose a watercolor inspired bridesmaid dress.  Designers are creating many watercolor dresses for 2013 in different colors and silhouettes.

Try pairing flowers in assorted shades and colors together for your wedding flowers.  Using many types of flowers helps to achieve dimension and a more “painted” look.

For the reception, a great way to incorporate the water color theme is with painted glass.  This is an easy DIY project that can be done with simple glass containers filled with paint.  Look how stunning and unique these are on the tables!

Another great way to incorporate the theme is through the cake! The possibilities are endless when designing your wedding cake.  Painted cakes will remain extremely popular in 2013 and are the perfect style for a watercolor wedding!

Wedding Colors Summer 2013: Pretty in Pink!!

The saying “Pink is my signature color” is one of my all time favorite movie lines and will ring true with many brides in 2013!  For my ultra feminine brides, pink is the perfect shade for almost any occasion and a wedding is no exception. In 2013 pink will be back with a vengeance being paired with many different colors to create a fresh new approach to using pink!

I have listed my top five fresh wedding color combinations that incorporate pink!

Pink and Green! This color combination has been around for a long time and still remains classic and beautiful.  If you are considering pink and green try changing the tone of pink from a deep or hot pink to a soft blush pink.  Or try pairing pink with a mint or even a deep moss green for a unique look!

Pink and Gray!  A new modern approach to pink is to pair it with gray.  Blush pink and gray give a soft, romantic color palette.

Deep pink mixed with a eclectic gray linen gives a cool modern look and feel to any decor.

Pink and Yellow!  Some brides are afraid of yellow.  Not many girls can wear yellow against their skin tones and if you are not careful it can wash out your bridesmaids in pictures.  That is why pink is a softer and more versatile color for the girls to wear.  Just pair their dresses with yellow bouquets for the perfect combination of pink and yellow!

Shades of Pink! My favorite pink color palette is to combine different shades of pink.  You can pair light and pink flowers together or use light flowers for the ceremony and gradually increase the deepness throughout the cocktail hour and reception!!

What is your favorite pink color combination?
