Fairytale Themed Wedding: Snow White

Fairytales are making a huge comeback this year showing up in television shows and movies.    With all the excitement it is no wonder that fairytales are now inspiring brides to theme their wedding after their favorite childhood story.  This year I would have to say that the hottest fairytale of them all is Snow White.

I have said this before and it applies to any theme you choose, make sure when you decide on your theme to not go overboard. Choose small subtle ways to bring your theme together with fashion and decor.  If you go too far, your theme will come off cheesy and not the fairytale you dreamed of.  Here are some ideas and inspiration to pull off a fabulous Snow White Fairytale Wedding.

If you want a fairytale wedding, you have to choose a dress that matches your whimsical theme.  Brides are not the only ones that are being inspired by fairytales, wedding dress designers are even creating gowns specifically with a certain fairytale in mind.  For a Snow White themed wedding choose a gown similar to this Alfred Angelo gown below.

Choose a hairstyle that is romantic and go for a more natural look with the makeup…but don’t forget about the red lips!

I also love the idea of pairing this gown with a capelet for the ceremony to resemble a modern version of the cape worn by Snow White.

For the bridesmaids you can go with the obvious red colored dress or choose a gray, gold or yellow dress depending on the season.

For the ceremony, I love the idea of using mirrors as a backdrop.  Get it…mirror, mirror, on the wall.  Or use mirrors as accents in the reception or on the guest tables.

Of course with a snow white theme, you can’t forget to use apples. Look how beautiful they are used in this bouquet?

And apples look great as centerpieces on the tables or as place cards for the guests.   Try pairing the apples with rustic elements found in nature like moss, leaves and branches to complete the look.

We hope these ideas have given you inspiration for creating your own fairytale wedding.

May your ending be just like Snow White….”and they lived happily ever after!”
