Wedding Dress Capelets!

Capes and capelets are my new favorite wedding accessory!  Whether you want to cover up and keep warm or want an alternative to a traditional wedding veil a cape or capelet may be the perfect accessory for your wedding look!

You can find the perfect capelet for any dress.  Capes are made out of lace, satin or fur and can be long or short.

For a more dramatic look choose a long capelet.  Long capes give more coverage during a ceremony and can be taken off easily afterwards for a different look.

Add a little color and bling with a short capelet like this one! So chic!

Wedding Dress Accessory: Bridal Caps

The 1920’s are a huge theme for weddings this year and this trend has revived a bridal accessory known as a cloche, or a bridal cap.

This year the bridal cap has been modernized a bit to match the wedding dress designs of today but has kept the same appeal it had in the 20‘s and 30‘s.  To me, this extremely romantic fascinator is the ultimate accessory for a vintage themed affair.  It gives an ethereal look covering the top of the head and part of the forehead.

It can be made to wear just the cap on it’s own, with a long veil attached to the back or even a blusher or cage veil in the front.  This gives you some versatility for after the wedding in case you want to remove the veils and only wear the cap for the reception.

Most are made with lace or a sheer tulle material.  Some are adorned with crystals, jewels, feathers or flowers to add extra flair.

I have to say, bridal caps are one of my new favorite accessories especially for a vintage wedding.
