Makeup Trends for Spring/ Summer 2013

Every year the runways help to dictate the hot new makeup trends. This year is no exception!  Some of the same looks we have seen before are showing up in a new way!

Red lips are still on trend for Spring and Summer 2013.   A pop of color on the lips, especially red, is a great look.  Just make sure to keep the eyes neutral.  Another great way to get a pop of color instead of wearing red lips is to try pink!

Eyeliner is all the rage this year! Try a retro look with your liner which goes great with a pop of color on the lips.  You can also smudge your eyeliner to give a more smoky eye look paired with a softer lip.

Bold eyes are still on trend with lashes being center stage.  Fluttery, thick lashes are the perfect way to make a dramatic statement with your eyes without wearing too much eyeshadow.

The natural look with glowing skin is also on trend for Spring and Summer.  Bronzer is your best friend with this look.  Wear a natural eye and lip with your skin being the main attraction.

Wedding Dress Trends 2013: Hi-Low Hem

I was surprised to see hi-low hemline wedding dresses were back for 2013!  These dresses are definitely not for every bride but if you are looking for a unique wedding dress that will have your guests talking this might be the dress for you.  It may also be perfect for a bride that can’t decide between a short or a long dress.   The hi-low hemline dresses range from a slight change in hemline to a more severe change in length. Designers everywhere are coming out with their own version of these gowns for 2013.

I’m not sure how I feel about these wedding gowns. At first I wasn’t loving the look but the slight change in hemline is growing on me.  I do love the fact that you can wear some fabulous shoes and your guests will actually get to see them!

New Trend: Wedge Wedding Shoes

A long overdue trend for brides and bridesmaids is to wear wedge shoes instead of high heeled shoes on their wedding day.

Personally I think any bride getting married outside, should consider wearing wedge heeled shoes.  With wedges you won’t have to worry about your heel getting stuck in the grass as you walk down the aisle or take your photographs.

They are also great for giving you height without making it difficult to walk around.  Not to mention how much better your feet will feel at the end of the wedding day.  Usually your poor feet ache towards the end of the event and you end up taking them off.  With wedges you can dance all night and not have tired feet at the end of your wedding!

You can even find wedge shoes in blue for your “something blue”!
